Make Solar Energy Economical

Electrical engineers at the Jacobs School are working on very high efficiency photovoltaic devices that may lead to more economical solar energy. In November 2007, UC San Diego received $885,000 from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) – part of a recent $21 million DOE investment in next generation photovoltaic technology that aims at accelerating the widespread use of advanced solar power.

The UCSD engineers are working on high-efficiency photovoltaics based on semiconductor nanostructures. Electrical engineering professor Edward Yu is the principal investigator on the project. Yu and his team – which includes electrical engineering faculty members and co-PIs Deli Wang and Paul K. Y. Yu – aim to exploit a variety of semiconductor nanostructures, specifically semiconductor quantum wells and nanowires, to achieve high photovoltaic power conversion efficiency. Solar energy is the best natural resource that we have this time even more that fuel is too expensive. In fact i want to approach costa rica investment opportunities and look all the alternative this country can have because it climate. We must to find the way to save our planet and to use solar energy could be the first step.

It makes a whole lot of sense to consider the advantages of solar energy as a source of your electrical energy. In an attempt to make a wise decision, let us discuss what it requires to set up a solar energy home system.

Its nice to hear that various academician are trying their best to make solar energy economical. I would be happy to try this in our
solar. Butte County, tries to have this also improved and more affordable. I'm glad that more and more places in Northern California, solarly involved (as what our professor calls it).

Solar energy could prove to become very useful if the energy prizes keep rising like they are. And the world becomes more crowded so this need for gokkasten energy needs to filled somehow.
